ETT ROTTERDAM

ETT is an ultra-modern terminal, perfectly located in the Port of Rotterdam. The deep water harbour means it’s capable of berthing VLCCs. ETT specializes in fuel oil and middle distillates, offering more than 1,400,000 m3 capacity. The 42 tanks handle K1, K2 and K3 products including ethanol, methanol, gasoil and jet fuel. The location provides a smooth connection by truck, rail and Europe’s 12,000 km pipeline system.

Emergency procedures

AN EMERGENCY STOP CAN BY GIVEN BY 3 MEANS

All vessels will receive a box with emergency stop button for use on deck.
After pushing this button an Emergency Shutdown (ESD) is activated.
– This ESD closes the shore ESD valves automatic, even on discharge! On
discharge it will NOT stop the cargo pump on board!
– On load vessels an ESD stops the shore cargo pump. And ESD will give an
alarm in the CCR of ETT control.
After an ESD a terminal operator / loadingmaster will always check your vessel.
NOTE: After an ESD ETT control will need to reset the system, on load vessels it will
take at least 10 minutes.

Call: STOP STOP STOP “vessels name” via the shore radio
All vessels will receive a shore radio for communication between the vessel and
terminal. In case of emergency of when needed call ETT control via the shore radio.
Further information about the shore radio can be found on page 16.
During this always identify your vessel in a calm and slow manner!

Fire and rescue 
On the Terminal all jetties are equipped at with least 1 firefighting monitor,
these monitors can supply green water and a mixture of air firefighting foam. The
general purpose of these monitors will be damage control rather than firefighting.
these monitors can be fed by 3 fire water pumps (up to 1350 m3/hr water each) andfoam supply pumps (up to 60m3/hr foam each) or by port authority patrol vessel.
ETT does only have basic emergency trained personnel, in case of a fire on board of
onsite industrial fire fighters will be dispatched. ETA of industrial fire trucks to ETT is
approx. 10 minutes

Medical Emergency
All our operational personnel are trained in basic first aid and basic emergency
rescue.
Port emergency services
• Equipment Type: Patrol Vessels
• Equipment Availability: 8 patrol vessels, equipped with oil absorbing booms (up to
100 meters per vessel), firefighting equipment (up to 1 x 2700 m3/hr and 2 x 600
m3/hr with foam per vessel)
• Equipment Type: Fire Fighting
• Equipment Availability: Special shore connections to connect
patrol boats so they can provide extra pressure on the shore fire
line
• Equipment Type: Oil Spill Response
• Equipment Availability: Containers with 300 meters boom inside are strategically
positioned in the port area. In total there is 4500 meters of boom available. The
booms are deployed by the royal boatmen association Eendracht. There are 3 to 5
special designed vessels stand by to recover the oil.

Slow whoop
General emergency alarm / fire alarm; all activities should stop!
All personnel must muster at designated muster stations / assembly
points and await further instructions by ETT control or personnel.
Fast whoop
Gas alarm, all activities should stop! all personnel must find safe haven
inside and close all ventilation.
And await further instructions by ETT control.
Monotonous tone
Safe signal, work related activities can be resumed.
Note: every first Monday of the month at 12:00 LT all alarms will be tested, the
testing will begin and end with the “safe signal”.

GENERAL TERMINAL INFORMATION

The ETT is a state-of-the-art facility and is strategically located in Europe’s busiest port and operating 24/7 /365. Our Terminal is equipped with multiple combined jetties for seagoing vessels and barges. Unlike surrounding terminals ETT can receive loaded VLCC’s; by the deep Caland channel leading from Europoort to the Maasvlakte. Other than Very Large Crude Carriers ETT has the possibility to load and discharge barges, railroad cars and trucks. Our jetty 4 is designed for a whole other kind of VLCC; on where we discharge Very Little Chemical Carriers into the pipeline of the Rotterdam Oxo-alcohol Plant.

Tank usage
Type tank: mild steel, mild steel coated, mild steel insulated and stainless steel suitable for K1, K2 and K3 products. Our tanks are currently in use for: black oils / Fuel Oil, gasoil / diesel, jet / kerosene and methanol. Besides the products mentioned before Euro Tank Terminal B.V. can also house minerals (crude oils, naphtha’s, gasoline and VGO’s) and chemicals (petrochemicals, solvents and alcohols)
